2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo: Godzilla is back!

The mighty GT-R has been out for quite some time now without any significant improvement since its debut in 2007. However, Nissan's engineers gave it everything right at the beginning, which made the GT-R one of the fastest cars out there back then. Today, even if the Japanese sports car is still a match for most supercars, it's just not as impressive as it used to be. The only reason explaining why it's still there is its popularity in the automobile community. You see, even if Nissan has made things a little better over the years for the GT-R, this platform offers a lot of potentials, and tuners are not afraid to bring it over 2 000 hp. Like the Supra did in the 90s, the GT-R myth simply surpassed the reality, but what makes it funny is that the GT-R is still in production.

We know the end is closed for the current GT-R, but the Japanese manufacturer hasn't talked about a replacement car which makes us think Godzilla might be on the market for a few more years. Also, when a vehicle goes towards the end of production, it usually offers fewer versions of itself which is not the case for the 2022 GT-R.

Nismo

There will be a Nismo version of the 2022 Nissan GT-R, but the chances are that most units are already sold. You see, Nissan planned production of only 300 units for the entire world, and many sources stated they sold every single one of them even if the production hadn't started yet. I mean, I wouldn't have any problem believing it with the current car market.

T-Spec and Track Edition

Along with the Nismo version, two special editions will be offered for the 2022 Nissan GT-R lineup, starting with the T-Spec and the Track Edition. Only 100 units for each of those produced will make it even rarer than the Nismo version for 2022. This special series will get a massive carbon fiber spoiler, upgraded brakes, and suspension with many other goodies.

Two New Colours

When I told you the 2022 Nissan GT-R offers is even bigger than last year's, it's no lie. The Japanese manufacturer even added two new tints for its sports car for 2022. The first one is Midnight Purple which is a classic color within Nissan history, and I'm sure this tint will suit perfectly the GT-R styling. The second option is a Millenium Jade Green which is pretty interesting since it's not shiny or bright tint. It is kind of a light green and a very subtle color in general, which gives the GT-R a totally different look. I won't lie; I kind of like it a lot.

Same Power

The 2022 Nissan GT-R will get the same VR38DETT V6 as usual, which will be offered in two versions. The regulars GT-R will offer a power of 565 hp and 467 foot-pounds of torque. However, if you go for the Nismo version and the other special editions, you will get a 600 hp version of the same motor. In both cases, the engine is coupled with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission that transfers the power to all four wheels.
